Pressed for time? Take a cue from Bless’er House and focus on your kitchen window. The blogger uses Command hooks to dress up her window with a simple wreath and dried orange garland, which you can easily DIY for some holiday fun.
Dress up the Island
When it comes to Christmas, “no island should ever be left unadorned; treat the island like a table,” says designer Autumn Pochiro of Autumn Dawn Design. For this look, she made the island a focal point—and an additional serving level—by covering used boxes with graphic fabric. “This island is 10×10, providing ample space for serving, so why not dress it accordingly? Remember, color is your friend—always embrace it with prints and energy especially at Christmas.”

Hang Feathered Wreaths
Pochiro decided to draw more attention to this home’s kitchen windows by hanging matching feathered wreaths and a vase full of lush greenery. “Creating a Christmas motif begins with color and windows,” she says. “During Christmas, we should continue to highlight their beauty with items like festive wreaths such as the fun feather designs or the vibrant greenery that brings a biophilic touch.”
Display a Gingerbread House
There’s no reason why your gingerbread house can’t be the highlight of your kitchen for the holiday. Blogger Lauren of Bless’er House went with a faux house, which she set on a wooden cake stand for an extra dose of charm.

Bring in a Sentimental Piece
Emily of Handmade Farmhouse likes to make Christmas extra special by putting enamel bowls she inherited from her great grandmother to use. After filling them with silver glass bulbs, she adds a mini tree on top.
Showcase Putz Houses
Add cheer to open kitchen shelves with Putz houses and bottle brush trees like this setup from Kelli of Lolly Jane. Don’t stop there, though. Finish it off by lighting up your shelves with string lights for an extra festive touch.
