Benjamin Moore’s Maximalist Palette Is Perfect For Lovers of Color
Maximalists have long had the reputation of being a little bold. Associated with fearless authenticity and unconventionality, it’s often believed that maximal homes are overwhelmed by many things, primarily color.
When many of us think of maximalist colors, bright sunny yellows and striking cherry reds are often the first shades that come to mind, but coveted paint brand Benjamin Moore’s new ‘Whole Home Palette’ suggests otherwise. Taking to Instagram, the brand shared a peek at its newly released color family, curated for lovers of a more eclectic, characterful look.
Featuring a multitude of shades from a rosy pink named Sandblast 2103-50 to Hemlock 719, the palette is anchored by Beau Green 2054-20, a handsome hue that reveals depths of emerald and sapphire.
The color scheme is versatile. It can be introduced in maximalist homes and more minimal spaces, too; perfect if you’re looking to strike a (sometimes precarious) balance between vibrant and livable. A berry-toned Mulberry 2075-20 is included in the mix, as is an array of neutrals (Desert Shadow 2114-30, Intense White OC-51, and Abyss 2128-20).
Arianna Barone, Color Marketing Manager at Benjamin Moore, explains the inspiration behind the palette. ‘On our social media channels, we are seeing people ask for bolder, more saturated colors. Although neutrals will always be a color palette staple, they are no longer what people are defaulting to. Our ‘Whole Home Palette’ series is something we do regularly on all our social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Pinterest) as a guide for choosing colors for your space. It takes the guesswork out and gives users a color-expert-designed palette.’

Maximalism isn’t for all, but with a deep jade green at the center of the palette, Benjamin Moore’s color family is surprisingly transitional. Arianna explains, ‘Beau Green 2054-20 is one of our more popular jewel-toned hues, so we wanted to highlight it as the foundation of the color palette.’
She continues, ‘To create a true maximalist palette, the rest of the colors in the space needed to hold their own as well. Although all the colors aren’t as bright and vibrant hues, they have depth and can make a statement in a design.’
‘This palette also has a subtle wink to the 1990s, given the resurgence of 90s nostalgia. When we created this palette, we wanted to do a modern spin on the vibrant and eclectic hues of this colorful era. The colors in this palette feel a bit moodier and richer, which align with the overall color trends we are seeing.’
Amongst Benjamin Moore’s Maximalist Palette is Mulberry 2075-20, a berry tone that combines the liveliness of fuchsia with the richness of purple.
