An apartment tenant turned to WISN 12 News after she said the elevator in her building has been broken for six months. For Terri Lewis to leave her third-floor apartment, it takes a cane and a high pain tolerance. She recently had her second knee replacement surgery.”It still hurts really bad going down and really coming back up, that is really some kind of pain,” Lewis said.Lewis said the elevator at Parc West Apartments, near 35th Street and North Avenue, has not worked since last August.”Everybody can’t believe it’s been out this long,” Lewis said. Lewis told WISN 12 News that the building’s management company, Rosenthal Associates, blames the broken elevator on a missing part. “‘We’re working on it, we’re working on it,’ “That’s all I hear,” Lewis said. Lewis said she’s forced to stay in her apartment when it’s too painful to go down the stairs.”I used to go play bingo when the elevator was going on. I used to be on the go. Now I’m just stuck in this house,” Lewis said. WISN 12 News reporter Kendall Keys tried to get ahold of the Rosenthal Associates Monday. They did not return the calls.”I love my apartment. I don’t want to move. But if you ain’t want to get the elevator fixed, you’re forcing me to move out of my apartment,” Lewis said.Keys checked back with Lewis on Sunday, Feb. 16, and the elevator had still not been fixed.
