The Hinesburg, Vermont, community came together on Wednesday to celebrate Kelley’s Field Two. It will be the second senior living housing development at the end of Kelley’s Field Road and will offer affordable housing for residents 55 and older. The project is expected to be completed in August 2024 and will include 23 one-bedroom apartments and one two-bedroom apartment. It will also feature a lounge, community room, telehealth room and pavilion. The new building will also include an elevator to make all apartments accessible. The Vermont State Housing Authority will provide rental assistance for eight of the apartments. This time, developers have partnered with Efficiency Vermont to ensure the building is energy efficient. Heat pumps will be used for heating and cooling and solar panels will be added to the roof, said Kathy Beyer, Evernorth’s senior vice president for real estate development. Beyer added that the Hinesburg community has responded well to the new project. “They have supported us at every step,” she said. “Both through the permitting process and the financing process and really as many people remarked today, we can’t say enough about how supportive Hinesburg has been to welcoming 24 new homes.”
