After a few quiet luxury, pared-back Christmases, people are craving the color and whimsy of a nostalgic Christmas again. We’re seeing a return to rich colors, bold and layered patterns, and decorations that spark joy.
That’s just what Christmas at IKEA invites you to do. To celebrate tradition, to rediscover child-like joy and wonder – it’s ‘the more the merrier’ in every sense.
And there are a few special guests involved, too. This year, they’ve collaborated with various creatives to bring a bold new twist to their classic Scandi style. Designer Evelina Kroon is a Stockholm-based graphic artist who brings classic colors and checks to fun motifs and candy-shaped designs.
‘My designs are timeless with a twist,’ she explains. ‘Using traditional Christmas colors but playing with scale creates something special. I hope these pieces become part of your holiday memories for years to come.’

For the less traditional, the hotly anticipated Gustaf Westman x IKEA collection takes Christmas tradition and throws it out the window. ‘I got the chance to put conventional holiday aesthetics on its head, adding playfulness and boldness,’ says Gustaf Westman.
The designs are focused on togetherness and super sculptural. While there are designs in classic red and green, there are also pops of bubblegum pink and baby blue in the mix. And the best part? There’s a meatball serving dish named the VINTERFINT Serving Plate.
‘For many people in Sweden, there’s no Christmas – and no IKEA – without meatballs,’ says Gustaf. ‘So, when I came up with the idea of a meatball plate, I had to explore it. The result is a fun serving plate that works for all small savoury or sweet treats, not only for meatballs.’
