FURTHER RECALLS
Meanwhile, high street retailer Next has issued an urgent recall of two popular festive kitchenware items.
This is after safety officials warned they could pose an injury risk to shoppers.
The products, both part of the chain’s gingerbread-themed Christmas range and made in India, have been found to fall foul of UK safety rules designed to protect consumers.
Shoppers who snapped up these gingerbread-themed pieces over the holidays are advised to check their cupboards right away.
One of the affected items is the X25 Gingerbread Nibble Bowl – a brown bowl with a festive gingerbread design.
And it risks cracking and chipping in its enamel layer during use.
The other is the X25 Gingerbread Serveboard, a fun serving platter shaped like a gingerbread man, complete with a green and white scarf, carrying the identical hazard.
In both instances, tiny fragments could break off and be swallowed, potentially causing injuries, as the items breach the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
Next is urging customers to stop using them immediately and return both to any store for a full refund.
